[PBSS] PBSS 11-3-07 Meeting Notes

The PBSS meeting was called to order at 7:18 PM sharp with the banging of the sacred plastic ketchup bottle by President Bill Bentley. 

Karen Perry kindly read the minutes of the last meeting and it was approved with no corrections.

Barry Hayes gave a Treasurer's report stating we have a total of $703.98.

Old Business:
We discussed TCR and the attendance of many PBSS members ( a good showing for our Grotto), Also plenty of chiggers to go around.

New Business: 
We discussed the November, 17 & 18, 2007 trip to McKittrick Hill that Barry is planning for Endless, Sand, and McKittrick Caves. Barry says we all need to bring wood! He was also looking for someone to pick up the permits if they don't come in the mail by Thursday. The trip was almost cancelled as there was a permit mix up at the BLM but it was all straightened out. 

We discussed the upcoming PBSS Christmas party which will be on Saturday December the 15th, 2007, to be held at Caverns of Sonora and the details have been worked out by Kel Thomas, Camping will cost $1.00 of which the club will pay for everyone who is a member who comes. This will be a fish fry event with Barry Hayes supplying all the fish, cookers and stuff. The Grotto will buy and pay for the sides and dessert. It was voted on and passed. It was also voted and passed that we have the PBSS business meeting at some point at the party.

Kel Thomas mentioned that he had been approached by a Rancher that has property in Pecos County and wants someone to look at some cave leads. This would make a good January 2008 trip possibly.

Karen Perry mentioned she has plenty of old fire hose for making rope pads and that if anyone is interested they should contact her. 

Jacqui Thomas announced that the next Big Manhole Cave dig was scheduled for early 2008 and that a date had not been set, but she wanted to have one that was fully attended by PBSS members.

There was a great round of discussion by Barry about how the renewals should be done for people not joining in January, prorated or adjusted and or limited. It was finally decided that since we had no by laws to look at, that it would be at the discretion of the Treasurer and no vote was necessary for any changes.


Bradford Cave was discussed as far as another trip to happen some time in February or March of 2008.


The meeting was adjourned promptly at 8:00 PM with the banging of the sacred plastic ketchup bottle...
